Every actor needs to harness their skill with consistent scene study technique. Scene study affords the actor the opportunity to discover their strengths and work on their weaknesses. The actor gains scene breakdown technique and character development tools. It refines the actor’s talent so they can step onto the set or stage with the knowledge and confidence that they are primed to deliver an inspired performance. Many find that their ongoing scene study class provides a home that keeps the actor prepared, ready and on their game.

Beginning/Intermediate
Taught by Kimberly Jentzen and Brienne La Flair. This course was created to support the actor in the evocative responsibilities they must realize while working in front of the camera. Actors learn through exercises, cold reading, scenes and monologues and are coached in: intimacy, energy level, depth, emotional range, essence, image, inner shadow, script interpretation, delivery, taking direction, auditioning, blocking, prop work, hitting marks and preparing for the set.
Emphasis is placed on reinforcing the techniques presented during the Cold Reading Weekend Intensive and continuing the next level of study. Breakthroughs that come out of the Intensive are reinforced. Next step lessons include: character development, how to rehearse, how to play to camera, simulating the audition and set work. The challenges of the profession are also addressed; as is the building of a unique and confident image. Jentzen’s Power Tools are taught to support emotional depth, imagination and book-ability.
Students are given specific assignments. Emphasis is on becoming a self-reliant actor. Focus is on developing the skills required for a successful career in the film and television industry.

Intermediate/Advanced
Taught by Kimberly Jentzen. This class requires each actor to be rigorous in their commitment and consistent in their approach. In the parlance of Jentzen’s students, Level II is a “kick-ass class.” It’s high energy, intense and fun! Some lessons guide actors toward effectively fleshing out a character. Others build confidence, encouraging the actor’s authentic self to emerge in the work. Each actor is given personalized coaching, assignments and scripts unique to their individual needs.
Actors work on cold reading, scenes, monologues, and improvisation skills to develop range, flexibility and adaptability. Jentzen’s “power tools” are taught to support emotional depth, imagination and “book-ability.”
